Pooley is one of the leading family-owned wineries in Tasmania, renowned for their exquisite Single Vineyard examples of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling from the Coal River region, less than an hour north of Hobart.
The family vineyard was planted in 1985 by Margaret and Denis Pooley. Today it is in the hands of the third generation of Pooleys, with award-winning winemakers Anna Pooley and husband Justin Bubb taking this remarkable family business from strength to strength.
Anna and Justin's wines are pure, refined and eminently cellar-worthy. A class-act producer setting a cracking pace for all of Tasmania to follow.
"Pooley is a load-bearing beam of Tasmanian wine. It’s not big but its impact is substantial. It upholds the right of uncompromised, family-owned, not-sweet, well-structured fine wine. It doesn’t punch above or below its weight; it is its weight, it is itself. The range is built on classic, brooding chardonnay, pinot noir, syrah and riesling. And, if anything, recent releases have gone up a level."
