Two excellent new wines that have been household favourites here at DD on offer for you today, from one of Victoria's most talented younger-generation winemakers, Owen Latta of Latta Vino.
The Ex Nihilio Pinot Gris and Tranquil Rose are the most popular wines in the Latta Vino stable. They are pure, textural and so delicious we're tempted to grab a (cardboard) straw over fine stemware to enjoy these beauties.
The string of reviews for the Tranquil Rose has been epic in the past few vintages, ranking up there with our favourite Aussie Rose wines from anywhere. Latta's new 2022 release continues the great form. Sangiovese delivered as a slippery, delicate pinkish wine. Yes! This wine is all class to the last (quickly evaporating) glass.
The Latta Ex Nihilio has been amongst the country's top expressions of Pinot Gris over the last handful of years - complex, tense, textural and unbelievably drinkable. It's another home run from Owen with the 2022 vintage. We'll drink a lot of this between the DD staff, so if you want it, jump quick.
"The vintage of 2022 is exceptional. Something like a pocket rocket, highly energetic wines bound with excellent personality, delicious texture & persisting length. Don't miss out on these!"
- Owner/Winemaker, Owen Latta
On top of the two new arrivals, our Latta Vino/Eastern Peake collection is filled to the brim with premium Pet-Nats, searing Rieslings, fascinating amber-ish things, premium Pinot Noirs & Chardonnays and some brilliant savoury reds from top Central Victorian vineyards.
Australia's most eclectic range of fine wines? It may well be.
Owen only makes wine a micro-batch at a time, all by hand and with fastidious attention to detail. At this price, there are no better 'naturally-made' wines in this country. Check out these great new releases and the full range while stocks last.
