Description
The Grosset Polish Hill Riesling is one of the finest in the country. For many years it has been a benchmark wine for the Clare Valley.
Sourced from one of Australia’s most iconic vineyards, Jeffrey Grosset’s meticulously tended, biodynamically farmed Polish Hill Vineyard in the Clare Valley, this Riesling is the definitive yardstick from which to measure the region's style.
98 points, Riesling of the Year & White Wine of the Year
"The essence of the Clare, time will most certainly reveal this to be one of the greatest in Grosset's 44 vintage history, and one of the finest Australian rieslings conjured yet."
- Tyson Stelzer
This vintage is already being hailed as one of the greatest in Grosset’s illustrious career. A cool growing season has yielded fruit of unmatched purity and intensity, resulting in a wine that’s both powerful and exquisitely refined. At its core, the 2024 Polish Hill offers a rush of pure lime juice, with subtle notes of white lily, granny smith apple, and lemon blossom dancing over a foundation of crystalline acidity and ancient slate minerality.
The vineyard itself, a ‘hard rock’ site with its silt and shale soils over a bed of blue slate, forces the vines to struggle, producing small, flavour-packed berries that translate into a wine of remarkable concentration and longevity. This is a Riesling built to age gracefully over decades, with a finish that lingers for a full sixty seconds, showcasing both its delicate finesse and underlying power.

"The longer I sit and taste this wine the more I think that this is a Grosset riesling for the ages."
- Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

"This needs no introduction; safe to say, this is one of the most delicious young releases of this wine... No matter, the character shifts each year in degree; it's a stellar wine, full of inimitable character and a finesse that Grosset does so well."
- Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)
Critics are unanimous in their praise, with Tyson Stelzer declaring it “desperately gorgeous,” predicting it will be remembered as one of the finest Australian Rieslings ever made. Campbell Mattinson and Mike Bennie also laud its exceptional concentration, floral lift, and mineral character, noting its immediate appeal yet immense potential for long-term cellaring.
With only two bottles produced per vine, the 2024 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling is as limited as it is exceptional. Whether you choose to enjoy it now or tuck it away for the future, this is a wine that will stand the test of time, embodying the very essence of Clare Valley Riesling.

"This is a benchmark in Australian Riesling and widely loved by collectors. The wine ages gracefully and slowly; the latent power that is stowed away on release is revealed in time, making this one of the greats in Australia. So here, the 2024 Polish Hill Riesling is thunderous and rolling in its intensity and energy. The citrus fruits gather speed over a grounding of crushed rocks and minerals, while the finish culminates in a sandstorm of flavor and texture. This is an excellent wine. It is fleshy and powerful, tightly coiled and salty. It's so good. 12.1% alcohol, sealed under screw cap."
- Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

Ordering
We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
- The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
- We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
- We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
- It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
- It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.
We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.
At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!
No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.
If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
