Yarran
Yarran Wines were named James Halliday's ‘Darkhorse Winery Of The Year’ for 2021, a tremendous achievement for the Brewer family who converted an old fruit farm in Yenda into vineyards in 1979, and spent many years as grape suppliers with no label of their own. The local Yarran tree gives its name to the label, being used for years as vineyard timber.
The estate is still run by Lorraine and her son Sam, and is one of few remaining family-owned wine producers in the Riverina, an area dominated by big corporate companies.
Sam Brewer worked for some these big guys but has returned to the family fold to great success - their wines are some of the very best value in Australia.
