Dominik Huber has changed the face of Priorat and now he is on a mission to do the same for Montsant. At 800m elevation and with water retaining clay soils Montsant is capable of producing Garnacha (both colours) and Carinena of incredible freshness and finesse and, unlike Priorat, the DO permits a lower ABV so that freshness can be captured in all its glory.
Leading the charge at Terroir Sense Fronteres is Terroir al Limit’s talented Vigneron Tatjana Peceric and her natural flair for the region is apparent. All the wines are whole bunch fermented in concrete, amphorae and stainless steel and infusion over extraction is the norm. Never have the depths of Spain had more nerve, tension, and fluidity, these an extremely satisfying set of wines to explore.
Florals, fennel seed and chalk with a touch of skins that add a powdery grip. This humble Montsant Grenache blanc is a game changer for Spanish whites.
The debut solo wine from the talented Tatjana Peceric of Terroir al Limit. An artisanal Carignan/ Grenache blend, it is considered and expressive, most certainly the start of something great.
Breathtakingly good Grenache from Priorat renegade Dominik Huber. Finesse and perfume make this one for lovers and collectors of the greatest bottles of Burgundy and Piedmont.
