Poggio Scalette
The story begins in 1991 when renowned oenologist Vittorio Fiore, took over an abandoned deceased estate in the heart of Chianti Classico.
On a large 40 ha parcel of land, there are only 15 ha of vines - as is the tradition of Tuscan estates they have an entire eco-system. Tuscan romanticism made real; sweeping hills, wooded forests, and olive-groves all in harmony with the beautifully manicured vineyards of the region.
Their vineyards; the first vines planted post-WWI, are now some of, if not the oldest vines in Tuscany. This stewardship is of vital importance to Vittorio.
He is unanimously considered one of the architects of the renewal and success of viticulture in Tuscany, and with his son Jurij now running the business, the precious stewardship of these old-vines will remain a family mission with the next generation as well.
