Podere Sottoilnoce
Podere Sottoilnoce , meaning 'under the walnut tree' is the work of winemaker Max Brondolo, situated in the small town of Castelvetro di Modena in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. Brondolo's entire philosophy revolves around minimal intervention, with a love of wine which was formed in part by his grandparents' vineyard in the Asti region of Piemonte.
Brondolo works six hectares of vineyards, focusing on Lambrusco, Trebbiano, and other indigenous Italian varieties, using biodynamic farming principles. Many of the grape varieties are virtually unknown to outsiders, and Brondolo offers a range of white, red and rose wines in still, sparkling and "semi-sparkling", such as a delicious Lambrusco.
