Meerlust
Meerlust is perhaps the icon wine producer of South Africa, with the Myburgh family growing grapes and making wine since 1756.
Today the estate is run by Hannes Myburgh, the eighth generation of his family to be custodian of the historic Manor House just outside of Stellenbosch.
Meerlust roughly means 'the pleasure of the sea', with the ocean breezes coming off False Bay a mere 5kms having a wonderful cooling effect on the vines, and the people!
They are most famed for the amazing Rubicon blend, intense Cabernet Sauvignon and just one white - a powerfully rich Chardonnay.
