Jean-Paul Thevenet is one of the original - and now legendary - 'Gang of Four', alongside other Beaujolais luminaries: Guy Breton, Jean Foillard and Marcel Lapierre.
A winemaker with a deep respect for tradition, Thevenet farms his old vines with an organic approach, expressing the nuance of his little patch of dirt with as little intervention as possible. Perhaps the most 'old school' of the four, Jean-Paul's wines are pure, expressive and have a rare life to them.
Now, his son Charly has joined him in the cellar since 2008 and the family tradition continues.
