Henschke
The first of the great Henschke winemaking family was Johann Christian Henschke, who arrived in Australia in 1841, settled in Krondorf initially and bought land in Keyneton (known locally as North Rhine!) in 1862 to plant vines and make wine. The first Henschke wines sales were back in 1868. They have hardly stopped since...
Now into their sixth generation of winemaking, owners Stephen and Prue have overseen the development of Henschke in Eden Valley into one of the world's great wine labels, with perhaps Australia's most famous vineyard, the majestic Hill of Grace.
