Domaine de l'Arlot
Domaine de l'Arlot is a classic example of an ancient Côte de Nuits Burgundian property, and one of the best current producers in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Originally owned by Jean-Charles Vienot, an heir from a multi-generational Burgundian family, in 1891 the property was sold to a wine merchant, Jules Belin, who enlarged the estate through multiple Cru vineyard purchases.
The domaine's recent history remains marked by the influence of Jean-Pierre de Smet who ran the domaine for almost two decades, and was the driving force behind their move to biodynamic viticulture.
Now run by microbiologist and oenologist Géraldine Godot, a native to the region, and one of the great women of Burgundy.
