Denis Mortet
Having worked for his father Charles, winemaker Denis Mortet took over from his retiring father in 1991, starting his own domaine and developing invaluable friendships with legends such as Henri Jayer and Lalou Bize-Leroy. Denis' son, Arnaud, joined the business in 1999, and was unfortunately thrust into the role of chief winemaker upon his father's sudden death in 2006.
Arnaud runs the business with his sister Clemence and mother Laurence, and his style of winemaking has changed significantly over the years, with less use of new wood and lighter extraction. The domaine manages one hundred plots around Burgundy, with a focus solely on Pinot Noir, for which they have received many plaudits.
