Although his family wine history started in Rioja with the Palacios Remondo estate, Alvaro Palacios is widely known for his pioneering work exploring the 2000-year-old wine history of the Priorat.
Arriving there in 1989, he has become famed for the intense old vine Garnatxa focused wines of L’Ermita and Finca Dofi, grown on the region’s distinctive dark slate llicorella soils.
