We've spent years hunting for the best-value Pinot Noirs in Tasmania. If you ask us, the sub-regional offerings from Two Tonne Tasmania's main man Ricky Evans represent about the best $35 you can spend on a bottle of Tasmanian Pinot Noir.
Ricky has some sublime wines on his hands from 2022. The Tamar Valley (TMV) is packed with delicious red summer berries and flowers, bright and fragrant as can be. It's frisky and vibrant with that alluring floral fragrance of pristine Pinot that lures you in. This has been our most popular Tasmanian Pinot Noir for the last four years and it's delivering the goods again in 2022.
Get on it, it's excellent.
"Ricky Evans solo project is just about one of the most exciting, interesting and collectable things coming out of Tasmania currently. Thoughtful young winemaker eking out small batch wines of very, very high quality."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
The STH (South) is a darker, more moody look at the variety. The fruit is much darker here, the tannins firmer - if you like a slightly more muscular style of Pinot Noir, this may be your favourite this year. Delicious stuff and it should fly out the door with only a small amount made.
On top of the superb Pinot Noirs, the cracking value TMV Chardonnay and Riesling are ready to roll. The Chardonnay is round, cuddly and delicious - the Riesling tight, limey and floral.
It's a gorgeous quartet from a great young talent.
We cannot recommend Ricky's wines any more vehemently. Sadly, they always sell out far too soon. If you're quick, you can catch the full range below....
