Both 2021 Lambert Wines hail from the cool Tibooburra vineyard in the southeast corner of the valley - a site that imparts tremendous minerality and structure to these two varieties. In 2020, Luke wasn't happy with the Syrah - as such none was released. In 2021, he's very happy with the quality, albeit a much smaller crop than usual. It's fine, spicy, slender and beautifully perfumed - a beguiling example of the variety that shows Australian Syrah can display a level of finesse that rivals the best from anywhere on the planet.
The Chardonnay is exceptionally pure. A flinty, tightly-coiled wine that has palpable energy about it. It's a deftly-crafted modern Chardonnay, built to highlight the beautiful texture and complex layers of cool, spicy fruit for which Tibooburra has become renowned.
