If you ask us, the sub-regional offerings from Two Tonne Tasmania's main man Ricky Evans represent about the best Sub-$40 you can spend on a bottle of Tasmanian Pinot Noir.
It’s a stunning lineup from one of Tassie’s most exciting winemakers. The EST & STH Pinot Noirs are particularly scarce this year, and Ricky’s wines never stick around for long. If you want in, don’t wait!
This is the wine that started it all for Ricky Evans, and after 14 vintages, it remains the definitive snapshot of the Tamar Valley. The TMV is a clever puzzle of fruit sourced from three distinct areas of the valley - a mix of estate blocks and long-term leased sites that Ricky knows inside out.
The 2025 season was another warm one, forcing an early start to the harvest. Because sugars were moving fast, Ricky focused on picking for freshness, being light-handed in the winery to avoid over-extraction. He stayed cautious with the whole-bunch component, settling on a 10% inclusion across the final blend to add just enough spice and aromatic lift without overshadowing the fruit.
The result is a classic, pretty Pinot that captures the Tamar wonderfully. It’s loaded with bright red berries - think raspberry and wild strawberry - wrapped in fine, chalky tannins. Spending 11 months in oak (only 10% new) has kept the palate juicy and vibrant. It’s a fragrant, effortless Pinot that’s made for immediate enjoyment, though it has enough structure to keep things interesting. As always with Two Tonne, it’s dangerously drinkable and stocks never last long.
While the TMV is the snapshot of the north, the STH is Ricky’s exploration of Tasmania’s cooler, southern corners. The 2025 vintage marks a big milestone for this cuvée, with the Huon Valley making its debut alongside the Derwent and Coal River Valleys. It now completes the trio of southern valleys, with each region making up roughly a third of the final blend.
Even though the south is traditionally the coldest end of the island, the 2025 season was warm and generous enough to give this wine a serious amount of plushness. Surprisingly, Ricky found that the new Huon component actually provided the grunt and richness this year. He kept the winemaking light-handed - roughly 10% whole bunch across the parcels and an early press-off to ensure that the tannins stayed soft and pliable.
Regardless, the result is the boldest and most structured Pinot in the Two Tonne range. It’s brooding and dark, loaded with black cherry and plum, but it still carries that essential Tassie lift. Spending 11 months in oak has smoothed out the edges, leaving you with a wine that has plenty of muscle but still feels energetic. It’s always the first to sell out of the three TTT Pinots, this year likely won't be different.
The EST Pinot is Ricky Evans’ deep dive into the rugged East Coast. Sourced from the windswept Blackwood Estate in Cranbrook, this is where the wild Freycinet coastline and ancient volcanic soils strip away the pretty fruit found in the north, replacing it with something a bit more rugged and edgy.
The 2025 season was warm and dry, but the East Coast fruit actually came in a little lighter in weight this year. Ricky leaned into this, using a 100% whole-berry fermentation with about 10 days on skins. He worked the ferment gently - pumpovers early and hand-plunging at the finish - before pressing it off warm to preserve the perfume. The result is a slightly prettier, more ethereal version of EST than we usually see, though it still carries that hallmark mineral tannin that is the site's thumbprint.
Even in a lighter frame, the wine's East Coast DNA is unmistakable. You still get the dark cherry and wild herb notes, but it’s the soil-driven, graphite tannins that really define it. It’s the most"Itanianate" of the Pinots, to use a clumsy analogy. But suffice to say, if you’re a fan of Pinots that lean into the savoury, mineral side of the spectrum, this is your pick.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.
**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
We’d love to help you out! Email is usually best but if it’s something urgent or you just really want to have a yarn about wine, food, or even the meaning of life, give us a call — we’re here for you.
