2024 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Riesling
Riesling from the Tamar Valley here (TMV) from young winemaker, Ricky Evans.
This is a tightly coiled and refined Riesling of streamlined fruit character and finesse. A smidge of residual sugar gives this a lovely balance in the mouth, making it brilliant to drink immediately and a gem for the cellar, depending on when you like to drink your Riesling.
Ricky continues to impress, a rising star of the Tasmanian wine scene and one to keep a close eye on. If you love Riesling from cooler climes, this is absolutely worth a look.
2024 La Prova Pinot Grigio
If Pinot Gris/Grigio floats your boat, then this little number from Sam Scott should hit the spot.
It's Adelaide Hills fruit made in two stages. First, keep it fresh and bright with early picking and quick pressing avoiding any tannin or chew - pristine juice is the most important. Then with careful and clever winemaking, Sam weaves savoury elements throughout the wine with intentional use of oxygen and lees.
The final result is a wine that is both fresh and textural at the same time. It's Pinot Grigio built for drinking with food or without.
"We love Pinot Grigio for the refreshing crispness it brings to the bar or table."
- Sam Scott (La Prova)
2023 Ravensworth Gruner Veltliner
Bryan Martin’s 2023 Ravensworth Grüner Veltliner is a fresh, small-batch return of this beloved Austrian varietal, grown in the high-altitude coolness of Tumbarumba’s Coppabella vineyard. This Grüner takes you on a sensory journey—think vibrant aromatics of spice and white flowers, a whisper of green herbs, and a burst of fresh, crisp texture. It’s bright and zesty like a Riesling or Albariño, but with a bit of Grüner’s signature peppery kick.
"A return of this great aromatic variety from Austria. In the same vein as Riesling and Albariño, Gruner has beautiful spicy, floral aromatics, retains plenty of texture and is super crisp."
- Bryan Martin
Crafted with Ravensworth’s typical attention to detail, the grapes were left on skins for a few days before a gentle press to barrel, where they spent nearly a year in 500-litre puncheons. This careful élevage gives the wine a lovely mouthfeel and complexity without losing that pure, racy acidity. Texturally, it's not too dissimilar from Chardonnay but obviously with the distinct Gruner thumbprint.
2023 was a bit of a rollercoaster—late bud burst, plenty of spring rain, and a temperamental summer that finally settled down just in time for harvest. It's a wine that’s ripe with flavour and crisp in structure. Enjoy it now for its refreshing zip, or tuck it away for up to 7 years to let the flavours deepen. Only 48 dozen produced.
2024 Somos Fiano & Amigos
Fiano & Amigos is a fresh, textural bargain from Mauricio Cantu at Somos Wines.
The 'Amigos' are a little splash of Verdelho (25%) and Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains (9%) which combined make up about a third of the blend, Fiano with a couple of days skin contact being the other half.
It's made for lazy Sunday sessions by the pool - it's not overly complicated but it is very satisfying and great alternative when you're looking for affordable, smashable whites that won't bust the bank.
"We wanted to make something fresh and fun to enjoy during the summer, but also something that is inherently interesting."
- Mauricio Cantu
2023 Vinden Headcase Semillon
Crafted by the talented Angus Vinden, the 2023 Vinden Headcase Semillon stands out in the Vinden range for its exceptional balance of tradition, innovation and deliciousness.
This Semillon comes from the historic Somerset Vineyard in the Hunter Valley, with vines planted by the Howard family in the 1960s, and Angus Vinden bringing new life to this vineyard through organic and regenerative farming practices.
The fruit was hand-picked in early February and fermented on fine solids in stainless steel, a concrete pyramid, and neutral oak, with extended lees contact for added complexity.
The result is a Semillon with complex aromatics of bright citrus and leesy, spicy notes. The palate offers lemon, lime, and wet stone characters, with a crackling acidity. It's textured and weighty yet remains fresh and vibrant profile.
Perfect for enjoying now or for aging, this wine is a must-try for those seeking a fresh take on a Hunter Valley classic.
2023 Commune of Buttons Basket Town Chardonnay
The Basket Town Chardonnay is the perfect entry-point to sample the stellar style of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay coming out of the Button's cellar at the moment...
The blend of vineyards that contribute to this wine include Udys and Commune of Buttons vineyards in Piccadilly and Kas Sluiter Vineyard in Onkaparinga.
It's a more opulent number, at least aromatically, with an orchard of stone fruits apparent. That richness diminishes on the palate, as it tightens up, becoming fine and chalky. Classic COB tension and freshness. It's a delicious, stylish, modern Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
“The wine is saline and tightly bound. There is excellent texture and mouthfeel from slow pressing and great focus and minerality from light extraction. The cool, wet conditions for 2023 made for aromatic, pretty Chardonnay wines dominated by ample white pear and citrus characters.”

Ordering
We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
- The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
- We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
- We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
- It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
- It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.
We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.
At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!
No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.
If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
