Description

Maximum 1 bottle per customer

Fraser McKinley has been producing the Little Wine since 2007, and each numbered release is a new assemblage - not a single vintage, but a blend drawn across multiple years of fruit from the Hoffman-Dallwitz Vineyard. #15 spans ten vintages, from 2015 through to 2025.

The idea is that the wine expresses McKinley's blending vision more than any single harvest. Whole clusters, foot-trodden for 21 days, fermented without additions, aged anywhere from six months to ten years in Burgundy barrels. No filtration.

The result is concentrated and complex in the way only Barossa Syrah from a great site can be: dark fruit, cherry peel, licorice, warm spice, leather. Fourteen percent alcohol, but carried with precision and structure rather than weight.

532 cases made from a vineyard that's been in the Sami-Odi picture since the beginning.

97 points - "I adore the sense of detail in the Sami-Odi wines. It's like bonsai winemaking; Fraser's mastery of blending and eye for both the beauty of an assemblage and the aesthetic appeal of the packaged wine never fails to astound me. Sourced from five plots within the Hoffmann family's Dallwitz vineyard (the oldest vines planted prior to 1912) and an un-vintaged composition of casks. Bright magenta-splashed crimson with a flair of ripe satsuma plum, blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry fruits. Layers of exotic spice, olive tapenade, raspberry pip, pastis, cherry conserve, subtle wood spice and dried citrus blossom. Superb depth of fruit, silty-fine kinetic tannins and a seam of fine, minerally acidity; it's in the finest of form. Skateboarding geeks will get a kick out of the label, a rendition of Christian Hosoi's first pro-model deck from a sketch by his father, Pops Hosoi. Again ... detail." - Dave Brookes (Halliday Wine Companion)

96 points - "To the wine on hand, this is the last year of splitting the closures between the beeswax-emulsion-coated DIAM corks (for Our Home) and natural cork (for Hoffman wines). From 2025 all the closures will be the beeswax DIAM. A tidbit really, but something to say. Warmer weather around harvest time in 2025, so a bit more age-old Barossa characters, says Fraser McKinley. The break down of the blend is 2025 (43%), 2024 (24%), 2023 (16%), 2022 (9%), 2020 (2%), 2019 (4%) & (2021 + 2018 + 2017 + 2016 + 2015) = 2%. Phew! Some Dallwitz old vines of course in the mix.

Amazing, purple black colour – vibrant as. A kind of jellied, glossy, riper fruit profile, blackcurrant lozenge, boysenberry compote, forest berry coulis on song. Some new leather inklings, cinnamon and clove spice, sweet, turned earth, sage leaf, bay leaf, peppery notes and a touch of game meat and graphite for x-factor. A rub of gravelly, slender tannin lending shape and texture too. Inky, persistent, inwardly concentrated. Fraser says ‘business as usual kind of feel to the wine’, which is fair, and also modesty as he references ‘classic Barossa styles’, this with more shape, tension, dimension, minerality. Just damn excellent, and to its own." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
