The I.J.M. Pinot is arguably the most soulful wine in the Gembrook cellar. Created by Andrew Marks as a tribute to his father and estate founder, Ian, it represents the "Ouroboros" - the symbol of eternal renewal. By blending fruit from the property’s oldest 1983 plantings with the newest MV6 vines, the wine connects the vineyard's past directly to its future.
This is a true "vigneron’s wine." While the J.K.M. release is about winemaking technique, the I.J.M. is all about the dirt. It’s 100% destemmed and matured entirely in old French oak, intentionally stripping away any "winemaking artefact" to let the volcanic soils and the cool-climate site speak for themselves. In the generous 2025 vintage, this has resulted in a Pinot of incredible intensity and purity, balancing deep red fruit with that unmistakable Gembrook mineral lift.
This is the first time we’ve seen the I.J.M. since 2023, and the quantities are heartbreakingly small. Only one barrel was produced - just 30 dozen for the world. It’s a powerful, honest, regal Pinot Noir that honours a legacy while standing at the very top of what the Yarra Valley can produce. If you’re a collector of this estate, this is the one to tuck away for a very special occasion.

"This has the perfume and complexity of the Gembrook Hill '25 Pinot Noir but with an extra degree of concentration. Aromas of red and black fruits, dark rose, underbrush and spice lead onto a richly flavoured, beautifully structured palate. Destined to age superbly. Only 30 dozen produced."

"This presents the perfect combination of finesse and flavour, with the length to match, and is therefore an elite release. It walks towards power but keeps the mood ethereal... Everything here is quite perfect."

The J.K.M. Pinot is Gembrook Hill’s "winemaker’s wine" - a more expressive, detailed sibling to the estate flagship. While the IJM Pinot was created as a vinous memorial to Andrew’s father, Ian, the J.K.M. is dedicated to his mother, June, and it's designed to capture a bit more of her natural exuberance. If the IJM is a "vigneron’s wine" (all about pure site), this is where Andrew Marks gets to play.
The 2025 release is the boldest version of this wine yet. It’s built entirely from 100% whole-bunch fermented MV6 fruit - a relatively new planting for the estate that brings a depth and tannin profile they haven’t seen in the older vines. In a warm, generous year like 2025, that whole-bunch intensity has translated into an unapologetically aromatic Pinot. It’s all about crunchy red forest berries, blood orange, and a punchy, savoury undergrowth character.
Because 2025 was such a generous season, this J.K.M. has a serious amount of power and "grab" on the palate. It’s an energetic, high-intensity wine that feels more modern than the traditional Gembrook style, but it still carries that essential cool-climate snap. Only two barrels were made - 50% of which was new French oak - making this an incredibly rare must-buy for any Pinot devotee who wants to see just how much "swagger" this site can produce.

"This is one of a compelling set of pinots from Gembrook Hill in '25; it will be fascinating to watch them evolve over the next decade."

"Oak shows itself here but as a whole this wine is dramatically seductive... It’s not too much but there’s a it of silk to the texture as well. Everything’s in place. Just a bit of extra time and it’ll be absolute roses."

Gembrook Hill’s flagship Pinot is a permanent fixture in our personal cellars, and honestly, it’s one of those "buy on sight" wines for the team. Sourced from the estate’s original 1985 plantings, these dry-grown, own-rooted vines usually turn out something very fine-boned and feminine, but the 2025 season has given us something with a bit more meat on its bones.
It’s a warmer, more generous year for the site, which actually makes it a lot of fun to drink right now. It’s got that velvety richness and depth of fruit that reminds us a lot of the stellar 2013 - if your memory goes back that far - where the ripeness is there, but the refinement of Gembrook remains perfectly intact.
Andrew Marks has this wine down to a fine art - 100% destemmed for three weeks on skins, wild yeast, and 20% new French oak. Very simple but exactly what his home vineyard responds to. You still get that signature perfume of rose petals and bright cherry, but there’s an extra layer of autumn spice and forest floor that fills out the palate.
It’s a polished, complex Pinot that's ready to roll early, though it’ll still easily tick along for another five, ten or fifteen years if you can manage to keep your hands off it.

"An extremely perfumed and pure-fruited wine, redolent of freshly poached strawberry, rose petal and baking spices... One of those wines that is delicious straight from the gate but will age beautifully, too."

"This is a terrific release. In fact this is a no-brainer. It has more fruit than usual, more depth through the mid palate, but it still features its trademark structured, insistent length and overall complexity is not in question... It’s super young, of course, but you’re not waisting your money by hooking into it now; it already has a completeness."

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.
**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
We’d love to help you out! Email is usually best but if it’s something urgent or you just really want to have a yarn about wine, food, or even the meaning of life, give us a call — we’re here for you.
