The Pret-a-Blanc is the all-rounder in the VS&B range. Comprised of a magnificently fresh blend of Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and some seasoning from Sylvaner, careful blending and attention to detail has taken this textural, Alsatian-inspired blend to a wonderful place.
Whether it's accompanying food or flying solo, the Pret-a-Blanc is wine jam-packed with charisma that will suit all occasions.
2023 Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Beechworth Chardonnay
This relatively new addition to the VS&B fold is made with a blend of fruit from two different vineyards - the Brunnen & Stanley Vineyards.
It's simply stunning drinking - fresh and beautifully bright, long and fine, yet keeping a gorgeous texture in the palate entwined with just a hint of nuttiness.
Only a few dozen were made, so if you're keen to try this beautiful expression of Beechworth Chardonnay, we suggest you hop in quick.

"Spot on. So drinkable, so delicious. Cool refrains of saline minerality, alpine herbs, more green apple and grapefruit in its restrained and refreshing way. Touches of stone fruit, yeah, maybe, but gentle. It’s a tightly wound, vibrant and fresh feeling chardonnay that leans into its inherent regional restraint well. A delight to drink, high refreshment factor in tow. We good."

2022 Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Pret A Rose
VS&B continue to kick goals with each release - without a doubt one of the great rising stars out of Victoria. Here comes their beautiful dry, complex rose - and it's right on point.
This is a blend of Shiraz from the Indigo Vineyard and Pinot Noir from the Brunnen Vineyard, and is a must-try for lovers of a more savoury style of rose;. It was made naturally with no additions except a little sulphur. Hand picked, basket pressed straight into, as Tessa puts it,"oooooooold barriques" then left alone on lees for a few months to build body.
Rose continues to grow in popularity and with so many easy-to-love examples like this out there at the moment, it's not hard to see why.
2022 Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Grauburgunder
This is the way Pinot Gris should be treated.
The Grauburgunder (German for Pinot Gris) spends a good time on skins before being pressed, allowing the natural colour and tannin of the variety to shine.
It's an excellent first crack at the wine style. There's loads of fresh stone fruit and florals to be enjoyed, yet the flavours are fresh and crisp, with clean acidity and plenty of definition.
So many producers are coming out with amber wines at the moment, and this is one of the most successful releases we've seen. Simply delectable.

"Grauburgunder is the German name for pinot gris. One taste and you can see why the grape is often called a 'red drinker's white wine'. It's got weight and presence, phenolic grip and tannin and layers of fruit, savouriness and spice. Pale blush hues from fermentation on skins. Dusty, earthy aromas with spice, pear, apple, ginger, quince paste and almond skin. A wine that changes, introducing another layer of flavour each time you return to it. Complex and compelling."

2023 Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Blauburgunder
The Blauburgunder is Jeremy Schmolzer's winemaking pet project.
Where their Brunnen Pinot Noir is a more serious, structural style of wine, this is a wine built for drinking young and with gusto.
The fruit comes from King Valley & Beechworth, and gets transformed into a totally refreshing light red perfect for any where, any time.
It's a divergence in style for the young couple, a more jovial wine meant to be chilled and drilled in short order. It's a joyous thing to drink, and super great value for quality.
2021 Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Pret A Rouge
Tessa Brown and Jeremy Schmolzer's Pret-a-Rouge is a blend of Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Sangiovese sourced from Beechworth and the Alpine Valleys.
Don't think too hard on the mechanics of the blend, this is made for ease of drinking and somehow these strange bed-fellows just work. It's built to be readily approachable and versatile, and it truly nails the brief.
If you are looking to get familiar with these two rising stars of Victorian wine, the Pret-a-Rouge is the best place to start.

We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.
