Description

When the call came mid-harvest in vintage 2024 offering up the entire Patina Vineyard, winemaker Sam Renzaglia said yes without blinking. That Chardonnay was a ripper and a real surprise packet, so we're very happy to see Sam back to the same site again for his Chardy in 2025!

Grown on a high-altitude, cool-climate site near Orange, the fruit comes off lean, tight and full of potential. It was whole bunch pressed straight to concrete, no fancy temp control, no fiddling. Wild ferment, full malolactic, left on lees through winter untouched, then bottled without fining or filtration.

You get stone fruit, citrus and a little florals, but it’s the texture and balance that are most impressive - it has a really lovely flow and balance to it.

Beautiful Chardonnay from Patina wines in Orange. This year sees the first of some of his new plantings coming on line. Mainly i95 I believe. We had a lot of fruit in 2025, more than we were expecting, but a good problem to have.

WINEMAKING NOTES

The grapes were harvested with optimal ripeness and sent to Chalou to press. We pressed hard and combined the pressings with the free run. Juice was transported back to our winery and transferred to concrete for fermentation. As is always the case, the fermentation went off without a hitch, primary and malo both. We seldom need to worry about or ferments in concrete. We added sulphur in the Spring, gave it a light filtration and bottled in early March without and fining.

Renzaglia

In 1982, defying the odds, Guy and Betty Renzaglia planted Illinois' first vines in Alto Pass.

Their son Mark joined the fight, later establishing Bella Luna vineyard in Australia's untouched O'Connell Valley with his wife Sandy. Today, their son Sam carries the torch, expanding Bella Luna while prioritizing a healthy ecosystem.

Through composting, cover crops, and respecting native fauna, they craft exceptional wines while fostering a thriving environment for generations to come.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
