Description
Jauma’s Lulu Chenin Blanc is a celebration of McLaren Vale’s oldest Chenin vines, planted in Blewitt Springs in the 1940s and farmed organically by Lulu Lunn. These ancient bush vines, rooted in deep white sand over clay and schist, yield minuscule amounts of intensely concentrated fruit, often less than a tonne per acre.
Winemaking here is as gentle as it gets. The fruit is pressed directly, and only the free-run juice makes it to mature French puncheons for fermentation. The wine then matures on lees for 14 months, developing depth while preserving its vibrant energy.
Expect a wine of serious intent. It’s textural and mineral-driven, with a mid-palate weight that speaks to the vines’ age and a purity that reflects the hands-off approach in the winery.
This is a powerful yet elegant Chenin Blanc that will only improve with time. Whether enjoyed now or cellared for years, Lulu is a testament to the unique quality of old-vine Chenin in South Australia.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
