Aristotelis ke Anthoula
Aristotelis ke Anthoula is the realisation of a family tradition that began when Tony Zafirakos' parents, Aristotelis and Anthoula, started making wine in their Sydney garage after migrating from Greece in the 1980s. Inspired by the rustic winemaking practices of their homeland, they crafted natural, additive-free wines that captured the vibrant essence of the grapes. What began as a modest family project has evolved into a thriving winery on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, where Tony and his partner Maddison continue to honour those traditions with a modern twist.
Tony, who spent years honing his craft in Italy, Germany, and Greece, brings a wealth of experience to Aristotelis ke Anthoula. His philosophy is rooted in minimal intervention, creating lo-fi wines that are pure, alive, and reflective of their origins. The winery produces small-batch wines from drought-resistant Mediterranean varieties and other alternative grapes that thrive in the local climate. Each bottle tells a story of resilience, community, and the immigrant experience, encapsulating the same dedication and care that Tony’s parents poured into their garage-made wines.
With Maddison’s influence, the winery has grown in reputation and quality, while staying true to its roots. Aristotelis ke Anthoula’s wines are highly regarded for their authenticity and vibrant character, quickly selling out with each release. A great new name to explore if you're a lover of natural wine.
