Triple Trophy-Winner: 2019 Sutton Grange Fairbank Syrah

This is one highly decorated 2019 Fair Bank Syrah from Sutton Grange, and it happens to be one of the last wines made by the supremely skilled hands of Melanie Chester during her tenure as winemaker there.

This little gem took out three trophies at the 2022 National Wine Show, winning Best Shiraz, the James Halliday Trophy for Best Red Wine, and the coveted Prime Minister's Trophy for Champion Wine of Show. If you ever needed proof that Shiraz from Central Victoria is primo drinking, here it is.

Our stocks have already sold out on us twice this year thanks to these huge wine show accolades and a very deserving 95 points from the Halliday Wine Companion.

"Fairbank shows the other side of the Syrah coin, the plummy, juicy, sweet-fruited side that offers excellent early drinking, with the promise of some medium-term ageing. Brilliant purple hues, bright, jubey, cassis, plum and concentrated spice. Balance, texture and good length on display, together with some signature bush mint. It's all here."
- Jeni Port (Halliday Wine Companion)

Influenced by the wines of Northern Rhone, the nose is lifted with notes of dark, wild berries, alongside beautifully warming spice. Medium-bodied, juicy, boasting loads of complexity and flavour, this wine absolutely nails it. Delivering everything you'd want in an Aussie Syrah, and under $30 to boot.

We've just gotten our final allocation and it's very limited, so we expect stocks to disappear in short order. Add this champion bargain to your wine rack while stocks last.
