Dormilona Clayface Releases

Today we are taking a look at one of our favourite premium, boutique Margaret River producers and her latest limited release of artisanal creations.

The term "hand-made" gets thrown around a lot in wine these days, but the rare and beautifully presented wines from Josephine Perry are the real deal. Jo is a one-woman show, every berry stomped by her feet, each bottle waxed by her hand.

The Dormilona wines are now regarded as some of the most interesting and exciting wines in all of Margaret River. Jo is reimagining the region one tiny little batch of organically grown fruit at a time.

Clayface Release

The Clayface wines are Jo's labour of love. They are all fermented in large terracotta pots and clay amphora with no adjustments (except a tiny amount of S02) and not an oak barrel in sight.

These wines have amazing energy, vibrancy and primacy. Raw, untouched and extremely rare - only a few hundred bottles of each are made. They are now completely sold out at the winery.

Act quick, this will be your only chance to purchase these scarce creatures!

Estate Release

Jo's little vineyard in Wallcliffe is now dry grown and farmed organically, her wines from this block show off her little patch of earth with as little artifice as possible. These wines are gorgeous, elegant and modern examples of Margaret River wine.

The Chardonnay is ripe and luscious, a tug of war between flavour intensity and restraint. The Cabernet sees no new oak, Jo leaning on the power and quality of her fruit to give the wine its presence. It's sweetly fruited and supple, great for drinking now or cellaring for a decade.
