Description

Here is the newest Rosé from young Owen Latta, the exciting winemaker at Ballarat boutique producer, Eastern Peake/Latta Vino.

This is a dead serious Rosé made with intent and supreme craftsmanship.

The Pinot Noir fruit sees more than a year on lees after being barrel fermented, a long, slow process to get to bottle and it's entirely worth the wait. The added time on lees and in barrel takes the textural elements of this wine into the stratosphere. It's a Rosé made as a fine wine, showcasing the complexity achievable in this wine style.

One word of warning, this is highly addictive, you may need more than just one bottle.

96 Points - "Made from pinot noir whole-bunch pressed to stainless steel, wild fermentation and on lees for about 16 months – no tinkering, according to Owen Latta. Very classy, super delicious and enjoyable from start to finish. Aromas are floral and spicy, savoury and citrusy, same with the palate. Finely tuned with soft raspberry acidity, fine creaminess from the lees and so moreish. Dry but not austere, just an adorable style of rosé." - Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

    Wow what a wine

Just tasted this in Japan (Musee - Kyoto, 22/12/24) and it’s incredible. Purity and freshness. Still so much tension between barely ripe crushed strawberries and mineral acidity. Wow what a wine

    Different and exciting Rose

This one was pretty cool, a familiar but different take on Rose. A bunch of classic strawberry and springtime perfumes on the nose but delivered with more precision than your standard pinkish wine. Dry and refreshing and with a bunch of complexity to keep it interesting. This is a great wine and has something for long time Rose lovers and those looking for a change

If you like your Rose to be a little bit special - please give this a try

I love Rose, so when I saw this, I had to give it a try. It looked a bit different with its subtle pink-orange hue. I had expected it to be really dry but this wine complex but really gluggable. I drank it at only slightly below room temp because i couldn't wait for it to refrigerated and I think this suited the wine. It paired great with Asian food. Definitely a wine I would buy again.

First produced back in 1995, before dry rosé was a thing. This vintage will go down as one of the great seasons on record, uninterrupted flowering, near perfect fruit set, very low disease pressure, the vineyard was in perfect order from start to finish. After a lack of Taché for the last few years we finally have a better quantity of this sought after rosé.

As always its 100% Pinot Noir, from a selected parcel in the vineyard picked for rosé (made for purpose), whole bunch pressed, indigenous yeasts, 12 months extended lees contact, No fining, filtering or Tinkering. Thoughtfully produced to reflect on where its grown.

Ordering

We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
  • The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
  • We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
  • We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
  • It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
  • It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.

We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.

At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.

If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
