Description

This is the wine that kicked it all off for Ricky Evans, and after 13 vintages, it just keeps getting better. A true snapshot of the Tamar Valley, TMV Pinot blends fruit from Ricky’s own vineyards with a couple of trusted growers, delivering a cracking Pinot that’s both effortless and detailed.

Think bright red berries - raspberry, wild strawberry, a bit of cranberry - wrapped up in fine, chalky tannins with a flicker of spice. There’s just enough whole bunch (10%) to add a little lift, and a stint in old barriques (only 10% new) keeps everything fresh, juicy, and dangerously easy to drink.

Pure Tassie Pinot pleasure - made to be opened, enjoyed, and probably finished faster than you planned. Stocks are always tight, so don’t sit on your hands.

"The 2024 TMV Pinot Noir (Tamar Valley) is supple and spicy on the nose, laden with an abundance of red fruits, exotic spices and new leather... This is a really good wine, a testament to the excellent growing season that was experienced here in 2024, and it's set up for a bright future ahead."

95 points - "The 2024 TMV Pinot Noir (Tamar Valley) is supple and spicy on the nose, laden with an abundance of red fruits, exotic spices and new leather. On the palate, the wine is silky and supple, the fruit is shaped by spicy tannins that weave and course over the palate. This is a really good wine, a testament to the excellent growing season that was experienced here in 2024, and it's set up for a bright future ahead. 12.7% alcohol, sealed under screw cap." - Erint Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

91 points - "This is all about purity and brightness, with a lovely crunchy, refreshing feel. A striking ruby-red colour sets the tone. A swath of red fruits lifts from the glass – strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, and Bing cherry. With time, subtle supporting notes of pine needle and pretty red rose emerge. It’s fresh, vibrant, and exuberant. The palate opens with charm and clarity, with a lovely weave of raspberry, strawberry, and red rose at the fore, underpinned by a touch of nutmeg spice. Tannins are crunchy, acidity is firm and freshening. A charming release." - Tom Kline (Wine Pilot)

Essence of Tassie Pinot

Ricky Evans is a brilliant winemaker. He crafts glorious Pinots that are amongst the best in Tasmania, superbly structured with luscious fruit and a fine savory edge. Pinot lovers will be in seventh heaven with this. It's such a bargain too for such top quality.

Great Pinot and a great price

Priced so reasonably, a great example of a Tassie Pinot.

TMV is a snapshot of the Tamar Valley in any given year, from the perspective of TTT.
This wine is from Tasmania’s Tamar Valley (TMV). Beginning just south of Launceston the valley winds 50km north to its meeting point with the powerful Bass Strait.

Produced from different sites, our intent with this wine is to reflect what we believe are the standout characteristics of the Tamar Valley sub region.

We pick each vineyard at the right time, resulting in a juicy and vibrant pinot noir that expresses red fruits and spice. There is softness within its warm heart, it leaves you with a trail of freshness and closes with strawberry seed-like tannin. This is produced from all four of our own sites, plus two dedicated growers, it is a true representation of the valley.

Woodlawn Tasmania

Woodlawn Tasmania is the umbrella under which Ricky Evans' three wine labels coalesce.

His three labels include the regional Two Tonne Tasmania series of Tamar Valley Riesling, Chardonnay and sub-regional Pinot Noirs, the experimental series of wines under the Havilah label made for his wine bar in Launceston of the same name and his Single Vineyard range of exceptional premium wines from his beloved Tamar Valley vineyards farmed by Ricky himself.

Evans is one of Tasmania's most dynamic winemakers. Over his time since serendipitously starting the Two Tonne Tasmania label in 2013, Ricky's approach to both farming grapes and making wine has matured dramatically. The young gun is now an established player in the upper echelon of the island and is set to be one of Tasmania's most influential voices in wine for many years to come.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
