2023 Bondar Single Vineyard Release

What an impeccable line-up we have for you today with a suite of highly-rated, highly-delicious wines from our friends Andre & Selina Bondar.

We tasted through the full line-up with Andre just this morning and as we've come to expect, every wine looked absolutely bang on. There's a lot to get through here so we'll try to be brief...

The new 2023 Chardonnay (95 points - The Wine Front) Andre says is his favourite yet and that he and Sel have been getting through plenty of it at home. It's classic Adelaide Hills, with a pure line and great length and just a hint of savoury grip on the finish. Stylish and sophisticated, this is a sensational release and according to Andre, the best since 2017.

From the Bondar's home block, we have the new single vineyard Rayner Grenache & Shiraz (both 95 points - The Wine Front) which are in tremendous form. A crisp, almost Pinot-esque depiction of Grenache and an elegant yet thoroughly regional Shiraz. Absolutely first class and incredible value in the context of the best wines from the region.

We have secured the final stocks of the ridiculous bargain Violet Hour Shiraz (95 points - Halliday Wine Companion) and have the brand new Junto GSM (91 points - The Wine Front). Junto is back to its frisky best after a couple of dark, moodier releases recently and Violet Hour was absolutely singing in the glass this morning, proving yet again why's probably the best pound-for-pound Shiraz in the region.

Finally, something special. We are offering a limited pre-release of the two most limited of the Bondar's wines this year. The debut release of the Clarendon Shiraz (96 points - The Wine Front) is hands down one of the best Shiraz wines ever made by Andre. It's stunningly purple fruited and floral aromatic is tamed by an inherent earthiness, it's coiled and controlled and really one of the best Shiraz expressions we've seen from the area in some time. Just 60 dozen made.

Its Grenache counterpart, the 2022 Higher Springs Grenache (94+ points - The Wine Front) is darker and more moody than the vivid Rayner but will be incredible with a little bottle age. So very, very good and a fascinating portait of Sue Trott's iconic 80 year old Blewitt Springs vineyard.

From top to tail this is one of the finest family-owned producers in all of Australia. The prices asked remain incredibly modest give the quality and pedigree on offer.. Shop the complete Bondar range, including our great value tasting pack below.
